Rice Wine Truku x Pangcah – 原醉

Founded in July 2015 by John and David, who are both aboriginal youths – of the Amis (Pangcah) and Taroko (Truku) tribes – Rice Wine Truku x Pangcah offers a unique way to sample the traditional aboriginal drink millet wine. The friendly bartenders use millet wine, together with a wide variety of mixers and local ingredients such as maqau pepper, to create a varied selection of delicious cocktails.

All of the drinks are helpfully graded by their alcohol content – from one star to five. Try the rice wine special – made from rice wine, banana, mint, lemon juice and lemonade – for an easy introduction to millet wine. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, you might want to try the five star-rated “Wide Island” cocktail, which includes 96% vodka – not for the faint-hearted!

In addition to the rice wine cocktails, all of the most popular cocktails and shots are on offer, and it’s a great place to enjoy a drink or two with friends and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Dongdamen night market.
